Poole Placed on Administrative Leave for "Safety Reasons"

Pretty much sums it up, what else is left to be said or debated?

"In other words, the point of this lesson was not to insult Christianity — the manual even anticipates most students won't step on the paper — but to compel students to understand the power of certain words and symbols.

Taking that a step further, because this is a course on intercultural communication, it's likely meant to provoke empathy from students when people of other cultures or faiths are offended."

I don't normally read the New Times but I have to admit, I was pleased that I stumbled upon this article. It's older, but really does express exactly how I feel about this situation.

Re: Poole Placed on Administrative Leave for "Safety Reasons"

I just saw another news article about this shared by a FB friend today. This is the second time I've seen one for the "stomp Jesus" catastrophe on FB. All the comments indicate they think Poole is the antiChrist. This thing just keeps floating around and without a proper explaination of the whole thing, people of course are going to think the worst.

That's the problem.

It's making the rounds on Twitter again. People are again encouraging infuriated readers to email [email protected] to voice their disdain.

Ha ha

Latest Rasmussen poll has the current USA population at 65% in believing that "Christ rose form the dead".

Given the fact that he was the figure chosen to illustrate an "academic" example; one in which 1,000's upon 1,000's of other could have effectively served as well:

What a shocker (US) people would react this way!

It's interesting to me that more anger isn't directed at the Christian professor who made the exercise versus the Christian professor who used the exercise.

I mean, the original author wrote this in a college textbook that could be used by professors in a hundred colleges across the country for all we know…. this just happened to be the one college where it blew up.

I guess your invite to the Marriage at Cana was lost in the mail Rick, too bad or you would've gotten to have a few sips yourself  ;)
