Re: Prowlers

Prowlers

I appreciate Smitty's comments and the group's efforts, but it sure does seem that there is a perception of a somewhat closed membership. That should be something the PrOwlers try to change.

Even the band cannot get funding to travel to all away games.

I think it cost only $4,000 to send the band to Gainesville, and the director had to cash in every marker he had to get the funding approved.

I hope the PrOwlers and many fans make the trip to Troy. The MTSU band and a decent number of fans came on Tuesday and made a big difference in the Movie Gallery atmosphere.

You do not have to be 25 just have to have a valid driver license and be put on a tar.

You do actually have to be 25 at some car rental places.

Re: Prowlers

Convoy would be cool - no doubt. It's not as easy to organize as it sounds - trust me. I've tried it before. It would take a lot of advanced planning.

Plus, the advantage of having a bus is that the prOWLers don't have to spend another night in the hotel, thus costing more money. They can leave right after the game and not have to drive 14 hours back.

I'm not against the prowlers. I just think there would be a better way of going. I also think sga's new trends is starting to get out of hand. Most of the A&S fees at fau get allocated towards buildings. So who really wants a new gym and UC in broward? Again, what can i do. President Brogan is pushing for more buildings to make fau a 'traditional' school.

Re: Prowlers

You can rent vans thru the university. They have a bunch of them just for that purpose. It isn't like going thru a rental agency. They are university owned and they are on campus.

Owlfan1: have you had experience with this? I remember asking to rent/borrow two vans last year to go down to South Beach with 20 students for the taping of the CBS Early Show for the SuperBowl. It was "FAU Day." The university wouldn't let us take them unless they were driven by an employee of the university - who wasn't a student employee.

Putting a gym or student union on any campus other than the Boca campus is a waste of valuable resources.

Almost as stupid as FAU putting a new general classroom building in the IRT parking lot, taking up parking spots in a parking lot which is already maxed out with cars from GPT and IRT residents.

But they're doing it!
