Rec. Center Expansion progress (Good News)

Don't know if any of you guys have been up at the gym this summer but construction seems to going nicely.  The newest campus rec news letter projects a Spring 2010 completion date.  I'm wondering does anyone know how they are going to connect the current Rec. Center to the expanded area?  I over heard someone say they were going to "lift the wall".  Anyone know?

Construction is being done from east to west (farthest to closest) to minimize the time the building will have to be shut down.  Parts of the eastern walls will be removed toward the end of construction, joining what's there now with the expansion (free weights, concession, lockers, gym)

I think they're doing it mostly west to east. Right now the groundwork is literally being laid for the expansion of the cardio/weights area and the multi-purpose court. What they do to build the walls is lay down wooden planks in the shape of the wall they need, pour the concrete, then once it's a wall, they can tilt them up and attach them together. That has to be done before you put the pool in and the pool is east of those things. East of the pool is just the wall and landscaping.

Current room will be free weights only and the new expansion will include a 2nd room half the size for cardio, the East wall will be taken out and the hallway will run all the way down to the entrance to the pool.  The locker room east wall will also be taken out and will enlarge the locker rooms as well as allow entrance into the locker rooms from the pool.
