Shooting at University Park

They've arrested one guy and charged him with first degree murder…this was far from random.

I'm a little bummed that every news story about this is that it's an FAU shooting. I have yet to hear if the victim was a student at Fau or if this happened at a place where some FAU students live but it shows the kind of deep investigation and class the local news provides.

Or the lack of information the police will release....

The shooter arrested is a FAU soccer player and victim was a drug dealer. Sad situation.

You figure after an incident like that, athletics would be drug testing all athletes in the near future to set a zero tolerance example.

Unbelievable.

That doesn't bode well for the men's Soccer Coach.  There has not been much winning there lately, and if you are not winning, you better be producing great students and citizens.

It's a scary world.

You must be from a different generation, because some weed doesn't lead to other drugs or bad people.  Just let everyone be.

Far from it, with public perception of all the incidents over the past few years  the University administration has to run a tight ship. I didn't say weed leads to other drugs but in this case it did lead to bad people. The two involved (don't know of the other four) were FAU students which were bound by the FAU code of conduct, and it does lay out a drug policy, and if they agreed to come to FAU they agreed to this document.Let alone the one charged has NCAA drug policy as well. It's not just a little weed when someone gets two in the belly. Hence leading to athletics to tighen their reigns. Last time I checked weed is illegal in Florida so there are consequences in your choice to use it and not just dictated by law enforcement.
