Led by the efforts of Student Alumni Board President Brianna Bragg and Student Alumni Association adviser Paul Metcalf, the SAA started out their year with a big BANG today.

Because of the overwhelming interest from incoming freshman to be involved with the SAA and the prOWLers, the group decided to hold this function as a "welcome to FAU" type of thing.

Nearly 100 students showed up and heard pep talks from President Brogan and Coach Schnellenberger.

It started over the summer with the SAA prOWLer being at every freshman orientation to teach the incoming students the fight song and other cheers.

Then came the announcement of the Texas trip organized by student government, followed by the planning of the bon fire next Wednesday.

Then today, the prOWLers traveled to FGCU to watch FAU women's soccer take on FGCU directly following this successful welcome reception.

I would say the FAU student body, most specifically SGA, SAA and the SAA prOWLers, are off to a GREAT START!
