The Owls take on #7 Oregon in Vegas in about 3 hours.  That would be a huge win if we can get it.

Held the lead until the Ducks final at bat:

“The defensive plays made in the second game should be on ESPN…you can’t convenience the team of that now. It is hard to take right now but, we just played the No. 7 team in the country and had them beat into the seventh inning. So, we are right there with them. We can play with all those (ranked) teams.” - FAU Head Coach Joan Joyce

The Owls closed out the UNLV Invite with an 8-0 five-inning victory against Drake University, on Sunday. Florida Atlantic was 4-1 in the tournament, with its lone loss coming at the hands of No. 7 Oregon, Saturday night.

“We didn’t want them thinking about last night’s game", said FAU head Coach Joan Joyce. "We need to think of every single individual game as we move along."

"And, probably the one thing that we learned last night is that we can compete with the top teams in the country and they (FAU players) should know that. "

FAU’s record stands at 17-2 on the year. The Owls will host Detroit on Tuesday, March 8 at 4:00 and 6:00 PM.

Heck of a weekend for her. Oregon was smart to obviously pitch around her, one reason they are no. 7!
