Re: 2012 FAU Women's Soccer Schedule

2012's Team returns senior goalkeeper Ashley Lantes, who led the SBC in saves and ranks second in program history with 246 saves.

Offensively, junior forward Brittney Nash ranked among the conference leaders in assists and scored four goals last fall, and fellow junior midfielder Lindsey Rice attempted 14 shots in her first season after transferring from Florida State University.

Sophomore defenders Yazmin Ongtengco and Amunique Scott look to continue to make an impact after being main contributors during their freshman seasons in 2011.

The Owls also will be bringing in a talented freshman class to help add quality players and depth to this year's squad.

Florida Atlantic was out shot 17-11 overall, and 8-3 on goal.

Claire Emslie paced the Owls' attack with four.

The squad will next face Illinois State on Friday, August 24th at 7:00 PM in Tampa.

C'mon Mr. Chun, get this sinking athletics program turned around. Why do we suck at most everything being in S. Florida?

One goal in two games + now 4 OT's and not even vs. our own level! SAD! C'mon ladies AND COACHES, turn it around and start putting the ball in the back of the net. Go Lady Owls!

The Owls made their way into the win column tonight, downing Wisconsin-Green Bay 2-1 in Tampa, FL.

Florida Atlantic (1-2) saw goals from Claire Emslie and Ellie Smith, and out shot the Phoenix by a 10-4 margin with a 6-2 advantage on goal.

Emslie's score at the 26th minute mark had FAU up 1-0 at the break, and Smith's connection put the Owls ahead 2-0 later in the second half.

Green Bay (0-3) would find the net shortly before regulation ended in the 86th minute.

The team will travel to Las Vegas next weekend for a pair of matches in the UNLV Rebel Classic.

First up will be Northern Arizona on Friday at 7:30 PM.
