ESPN Bias?

Guys, we are so young , we don't have any tradition. Schools in the big ten and sec have a hundred year head start on us. I've attended games where there are three generations of allums enjoying the atmosphere. We can try ,but that type of thing can not be rushed. I'm 53 years old and a graduate of FAU. I have two children that go to FAU and go to all the games. This is how it starts. Sit back, enjoy every game you attend, and eventually we will get there. This thread went from ESPN Bias to this. Quite a strange journey.

Re: ESPN Bias?

I agree with the tradition points, and as an FAU graduate with a son also currently enrolled at FAU, I can relate to that specific example. However, I don't always feel that the 100+ years of tradition is the largest requirment for a big fan base. The real catalist has been mentioned here many times before…fans love to follow winning team. Heck, I got an email yesterday from an old friend who lives up in Monroe NC, haven't heard from him in over a year. Pinged me just to coment on the FAU/UNC baseball game and give props. Unfortunelty, when you win, people notice more, and then they start to follow and care. And this definately, and especially includes the ESPN machine.

Re: ESPN Bias?

Had we won, the Cinderella story would have been front and center just like FGCU in Basketball.
