Good luck to the new hire on improving football. I haven't seen any improvement in the 15 years I've been here and how ever many coaches have been there during that time.

Which is weird because they've got good academics, nice campus, big stadium, BCS affiliation, etc

I'm sure it's hard to recruit for instance Florida guys to practice and play in the cold, but Minnesota, Michigan State, Ohio State etc are certainly able to do it.

Looks like their last good season was 2011 when they went 7-6 including a loss in a bowl game. I remember them first coming onto my radar when Juice Williams was QB, and he played for them 2006-2009. During that time they played in the Rose Bowl and were even ranked in the Top 25 (but  eventually fell to 5-7 that season).

But yeah they've had a lot of bad seasons lately. Not unlike us. Wow.

We have several students that work here at our office, and they hate Chun. In their view, he's not student-friendly, and apparently they've had to work against him in the past.

The example they give is that Chun didn't want to give the students tickets to the Miami game, but wanted to charge them like other attendees.

Regardless of whether he was right or wrong, it doesn't help the program to have the student body at odds with the AD.

FWIW, they LOVE Pr. Kelly. We have one part-timer that works in his office too, and Kelly has done nothing but endear himself to the student body. Really the opposite of Chun.

Wow, good insight. Are you talking about current students or alumni?

Current students. I think the oldest student we have is a junior. When I asked what he thought about Chun leaving, he said "Good. I hate that guy."

I think the problem with Chun is that he's pushing to get the school to be more like a brand like OSU first, rather than let that happen organically as students graduate and influence the city around them. It's like he's trying to push for a consumer product at the expense of the ones that matter the most - the students that are on campus today.

I can see that. I heard he really doesn't connect with the alumni. Didn't President Kelly get the Schmidt's and the others to donate for the new athletic center.

I'm pretty sure it was Kelly that did that, not Chun.

Well if he gets the job, i want a AD who will reach out to alumni, as well as local companies for support. I want a person who wants to get the naming rights and accomplish his goals while doing the homework prior to making the decisions.

David I wonder if these students ever reached out to President Kelly with their concerns.

I absolutely agree he's trying to build an Ohio State-type brand.

Illinois is looking for an alumnus. Maybe we should too.

Smitty you ready to take over at FAU when Chun leaves??

I'm all for building our brand, by getting it out there such as billboards, bus ads and in businesses, but up here in the northern part of the county i hardly see anything and I am 10 minutes from the Jupiter campus. Maybe we should use our business majors and use our marketing students to help our marketing team. To illustrate my point, they promote the basketball games on the radios and online, but I never hear anything on the radio about advertising the baseball games, and only see it online. We need a total revamp.

From what I understand, the SGA and Greek Council have been pretty vocal in their frustrations.
