They received those uniforms prior to the branding initiative. They probably don't have the money to get new ones.

And the Ice Hockey team use to do a good job of marketing themselves. and AlexFAU06… you seem like an involved and aware student….. if you haven't heard of them, then maybe they aren't doing their own marketing? I don't know….

They could probably just use Incredible Ice in Coral Springs.  There are a few seats available.  Too costly to cool the floor.

UF's Ice Hockey Club team traveled to Jacksonville to use the ice for their "home" games.

Used to work at Incredible Ice, the electricity costs every month were upwards of $30,000 to keep the ice.

I think they charge something like $500/hour for ice time.

Renting Boca's ice rink makes perfect sense, it is going to be so close!

I would love to see us compete in Ice Hockey one day!  You never know?

I think you're right, and that's too bad. College hockey is a great sport. Alabama-Huntsville has proved it can be played at the NCAA Div. 1 level in the South. Imagine the caliber of players from the frozen north who would flock to Boca to play intercollegiate hockey. Colorado's three Div. 1 hockey teams (Denver, Colorado College, Air Force) all are ranked. The amazing one is Air Force. Can you imagine recruiting hockey players when you can't go after Canadians? (They have to sign up for the U.S. Air Force….)

I agree with you, I'm a big hockey fan. I was born in Long Island so unfortunately college hockey isn't too big up there. I enjoy watching the frozen four whenever it's on ESPN and the outdoor game between I think it was Michigan at Michigan State was insane. I can't wait for the annual outdoor game this year at Wrigley. Being a NY Islanders fan (sad I know lol). I'm hoping they have an outdoor game vs. the Rangers sometime soon

That's one reason I went to FAU, for the hockey club. I went to a game to see about joining, they had 6 people on the team playing, that means 1 sub, and the captain told me they have enough people.

It was a group of friends from up north that wanted all the playing time and would not let anyone on, and didn't even ask what kind of experience I had…  WTF

They played at gold Coast Arena in Pompano.
