Haskins "Impressing" Galaxy of MLS

If word from Mark Haskins’ agent, Ryan Hartslief, is anything to go by, then Haskins will soon be lost to PSL football.

Early signs of his trial at US Major League Soccer (MLS) club suggest he could be signed.

Looks like this is making news in the soccer ranks…SI picked it up as well:

"Mark Haskins, a star midfielder for Moroka Swallows in South Africa's top flight, will be heading to Los Angeles for a tryout with the Galaxy next week, according to a report on South African news site news24.com.

Moroka's season will come to an end this weekend when his Swallows take on Pretoria University in the Nedbank Cup final.

The 28-year-old is familiar with the U.S., having earned a scholarship to Florida Atlantic University in 2000, but has since had to develop his talent in South Africa's top league where he has played with the Swallows for the last four years.

Did a little digging around, and per FAU, we have had only one other former player in the MLS…and that was Drew Helm, who was drafted in the 2006 MLS Supplemental Draft by Chivas USA…so if this pans out, that's pretty big for our program.
