Men's Tennis: Owls Shut Out Hoyas 7-0
The Owls, ranked no. 70, showcased a solid display of doubles fundamentals with good energy, communication, and execution. FAU won each doubles match and the momentum of the match. Court three was the first to exit the court with an 8-3 victory. The doubles point was secured shortly after with FAU’s no. 2 team walking off an 8-1 winner. The duo of Marc Abdelnour and Eddie Majcher finished their match despite the verdict already decided with an 8-3 victory. The win further solidifies Abdelnour and Majcher’s No. 49 national rank.
“We responded to the Hoya’s energy in doubles with determination, solid first exchanges, and good communication,” said Brandon Stokes, FAU’s head coach. “This was important for us—we needed to immediately set the match’s tone. We always want to use our momentum from doubles. So, to come out in singles with a level of toughness and confidence was necessary. We are learning from the past and making our present a more positive and rewarding experience. Now, we will prepare for two more Big East foes this weekend in Tampa, FL.”
