Re: New Sentinel FAU Beat Writer: Dieter Kurtenbach

Is it not a valid concern? Every other SBC program has one commit.

Im not saying that I expect 5-6 4 stars or anything like that. But I would think that one would of said yes.

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

Re: New Sentinel FAU Beat Writer: Dieter Kurtenbach

What is the point in committing so early?

If I were a recruit, a sought after recruit that is, then I would wait to see who offers me, visit them, and then decide in December, at earliest.

What would you do?

Funny cause Phil Steele shows ULL also with no verbals yet.

Verbals to Belt programs when you look at them are zero or 2 stars and most with only the one offer to boot. Desperate recruits "commiting" to what they think may be their only offer! Not interested, we have too many of those from the past four years (not counting the 2012 signing class).

On another note, whenever I comment on the FAU Sun Sentinel Blog they never get posted. (I usually post under NJOwl.

Any ideas why??????

I think they have to be approved to avoid spam issues.

Not sure what the point is of filtering the comments, especially if they get posted two days after you write them. I stopped commenting on the SS a while back when they started this practice. As far a Mr. Kurtenbach's first post, slight negative slant, but what do you expect from the SBC last place team…at least on paper (also based on last season). Most of these kids want to be associated with a "winner"…it's the easy way out. It's way to early in the season to panic. We are being judged by last years results.

Look, let's see how the season plays out. If we prove to be winners, you'll see what happens in February.

Re: New Sentinel FAU Beat Writer: Dieter Kurtenbach

–Both Louisiana schools have two commits.

–I have to approve the comments on the blog. I don't know why, but I assure you, I'm not going to filter anything out unless you're cursing and such. I do appreciate you commenting on the blog, but that's going to take plenty of coding and reworking of the blog interface, which, in a word, is pathetic.

Another word: outdated.

Another word: embarrassing

So because I can, I will bring it into the 21st century. I'd appreciate some patience while this happens. It's not an easy fix.

And yeah, the post had a slightly negative slant. I'd say it's a far more negative situation than I'm playing it out to be (I'm still the new guy, don't want to piss you all off yet.)

It's not just the fact that no one has bought into Pelini and FAU yet, it's that no one I have talked to thinks that it's going to happen anytime soon. We'll have to see if Pelini can find diamonds in the rough, because it looks like he's going to get last pick — again. (this, of course, is in concert with the preachings of @GeorgiaOwl.)

I don't want to go 100 percent on the record, because I didn't look up every single school in FBS, but it looks like FAU is the nation's only commitless team. I'm going to follow up on that, because if that's the case, I don't see it changing tomorrow.

@dusky256fc we're not dying (all that fast) you have my twitter and email, feel free to shoot me blog or story ideas anytime you one pops into your head. No promises, but I serve you guys.

Thanks for reading guys. I'll make sure the comments section gets up to scruff ASAP.
