Just for those that don't know:

biddies - plural of bid·dy

Noun: A woman, usually an elderly one, regarded as annoying or interfering.

"The Year of Living Frugally" is an indication that his income is being cut so he's either:

A) retiring
B) getting fired from the paper, who may also cut their FAU coverage.

In both cases he would be nostalgic of when he used to cover FAU.

Now, if he was being hired by FAU - as some of us would hope - he wouldn't have made that comment.

So there it is.

I cant help but remember teh "Growing closer to FAU" comment. I dont think that was dropped haphazardly.
