There is 1 concern regarding an "erector-set" type of construction, that nobody has spoke of…How would it hold up under hurricane forced winds? Does anybody now what type of wind pressures a steel structure can withstand? I have had a little experience with wind pressure's regarding Dolphin Stadium, but that structure is obviously concrete. It would really blow (no pun intended) if we had our stadium built, only to have it destroyed 1 year later.

I'm sure that the stadium for $60+ million would be built up to code. Lockhart has withstood multiple hurricanes and that look like it is the best quality construction.

Lockhard is a relatively low structure, but it is steel. Most of it was added or renovated in 1998 for about $5 million.

I still say they can save some buck by having Ft. Lauderdale donate the end zone and corner seating structures. Especially if they decide on a temp stadium. Hell thats gotta be 5-7,000 seats

the endzone and corner seating at lockhart are complete bleachers, not even seats… that means MORE than 5-7,000… i'd say easily 10-12,000

I took the time to capture the Sun Belt stadiums, and how we would compare (I know FIU's will be different, but it gives an idea).

I just want a stadium on campus. If it's 30,000 seat, so be it. As long as we can expand on it, it's cool.

MTSU has a pretty nice stadium. It is fairly bare-bones, but it is still nice. I went to a game there a few years back and I was very impressed.

GO OWLS!!!

Nice work prowler, thanks for the work.

At this point a 30K erector set seems pretty good to me since I think the alternative is nothing. With this BOT…baby steps is the only way.

GO OWLS!
