Anyone notice the ad in Tuesday's PB Postsports section for the College Football Kickoff with Kirk Herbstreit? The event is being sponsored by National City Bank. Anyone ever heard of them?

Guys,

National City, sponsors the tour that Herbstreit promotes with ESPN radio.

Also - i could be wrong, but i dont think that any bank in this country or canda could step up the plate with a $20MM donation right now or over how ever many years. Its the perfect storm for our Stadium. So you guys know i am not blowing smoke - I am a VP of a local bank as well as very much involved in a specific regional bank's success and its very scary out there right now. I can say that i am 99% sure its not bank atlantic or commerace bank, they have some serious issues and if they were to come out and pledge $20MM, i would think the federal bank regulators would be there in about 10 sec's. telling them to get the $ back.

I have a suspission that the students will be footing the bill or pat of the bill to get this stadium built.

If I remember correctly, wasn't "Plan B" the original plan and then the BoT stepped in and said there was NO WAY athletics was going to give away those rights?  Or was that the rights to the stadium and village? And what does the BoT feel about the plan now?

Sort of… but it was a much larger plan for a $120 million dome. This is for half as much.

I think that some form of plan B might be in the cards, if any hopes of opening in '10 - '11 might be more realistic.
