Personally I'd like to see the stadium be used as a major concert venue. I know we have the Mizner Amphitheater but they're very strict about what they'll put in there based upon the kind of audience it might attract and how it might impact the residents there.

Concerts at the stadium, UFC rights at the Burrow. I think those would be good non-sports uses for those facilities and sell them out.

Arent artists paid big money to come to a certian venue?  In otherwords, what makes an artist choose which venue they play at?

I'm sure that there are a lot of variables involved, like:

- does the band's label have a contract with a certain venue
- what is the band's availability
- what does the band usually draw… a band like Pepper is not going to fill the stadium
- how competent are the bookers and the venue staff

Right, I think there is a ton that goes into it and a serious investment up front to be made.

Also, I dont think any college football stadiums in Florida are used for concerts.  Not to say its a bad idea, but if it was a great one it would be done.

If we want concerts we build that convecation center with 10,000 seats we have been talking about for years.  That would be a more appropriate venue IMO.

That is true, Florida has a plethora of large football stadiums and for whatever reason they just aren't used as concert venues.  It maybe weather related though, as miles of cable and electrical equipment don't take well to our afternoon thunderstorms.  Plus usually the acoustics of a stadium suck for music. 

Does anyone know what was going on at the stadium tonight? Was there a high school football game, or a campus event?

I think it was all prep for Friday, just setting up tents and checking sound ect
