back to the flyover… and not the animal… I think they should use old WWII planes if they could find a way since it is an old Base, a B-17 going over head would be awesome! (hard to get I'm sure! and probably won't happen!)
That is an awesome idea!
…and it is FAU's 50th Anniversary…that would be cool to see some old style planes that were at FAU when this thing started.

Nice! It would be cool to get a warbird flyover. There are a couple B17s still flying, but id prefer a B24 since that's what my grandfather flew in. He may. Have actually been at the fau site. There a really cool museum in kissimmee that restores. The old planes and flies themTeamBeer said
With regards to the history of our campus, Im bringing an old air raid siren to our tailgate that im sure will annoy the hell out of the people next to us but its an homage to the air force base we're built on

But I gotta say that a B-17 or B-24 escorted with a pair of P-51's would be REALLY cool to see.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

I dont know what types of planes were stationed at FAU.

I know the base was a radar training facility.
I think radar was first put in the B-17s to help the bombing runs, but for training purposes they could of used smaller planes.
but yeah, a B-17 and a couple Mustangs would be really cool!
Ha ha.. I was right, doing some fact checking and just found this…
"the Army Air Corps agreed land west of Boca Raton would make the ideal location for a facility to train pilots to fly B17’s and other military aircraft and educate troops in the use of a new top-secret device—airborne radar."
