given the choice, i would rather be on campus in the temp…its better for recruiting…and shows momentum and committment since the village participants would foot the bill…
just my opinion though
I agree, having a temp stadium shows that FAU is attempting to move in the right direction. I also think that a temp stadium is only going to be a good decision if it gets a minimum of two seasons worth of use. Having it for one season just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I do think with the hype that was created with the Bury the Burrow in Red and maybe carry that momentum to continue the excitement during football this season, if it's on Campus.
There are many benefits to playing on campus, if done right.

Here is a caption of a fairly recent article that goes along with and supportsTeamBeer's recent hearing…link to the whole article below as well for those interested in the now defunct Miami Fusion and the writer's appearnt disdain for the dilapodated Lockhart:
McGeehan: Good Riddance To Lockhart
By Kevin McGeehan
"USSoccerPlayers (March 22, 2007) – In any battle between the preservation and demolition of older buildings, I almost always come down on the side of preservationists. That's why I was surprised by my reaction to the news that Lockhart Stadium, the former home of the Miami Fusion and Fort Lauderdale Strikers, will be razed within a year. I want that place torn down and forgotten as soon as possible.
For those who missed the story bubbling below the surface of American soccer, the City of Fort Lauderdale plans to tear down Lockhart Stadium after next season's baseball Spring Training and build an expanded complex for the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles, predictably, don't want to talk about the deal, but the city doesn't want to lose a six-week cash cow like Spring Training to another city in Arizona. In order to keep the Orioles, a new facility must be built. The site of this new facility, of course, is Lockhart Stadium, considered by many to be the first soccer-specific stadium in the United States."
