While personally not a huge fan, I will say that Lacrosse is a growing sport in S. Florida. Several of my friends have kids who are playing it and they are rabid about it.

Will it get 10K in the house? I dont know but it is certainly a good opportunity to show of the new baby, not to mention give FAU Stadium operatios (If this even exists) another event to get ready for Football season.

Hopefully ticketing and concessions are handled better than they were for the Battle of Florida game.

MLL Places Team in Florida

Boston (Nov. 21, 2013) –Major League Lacrosse, the premier outdoor lacrosse league, announced today that it will place a team in South Florida for the 2014 season. The team will be named the Florida Launch and will be coached by former Denver Outlaws assistant Stan Ross. It will play in Palm Beach County, a location where MLL has enjoyed recent success.

“South Florida has always been a target market for us,” said MLL Commissioner David Gross. “After the 2012 All-Star Game and last year’s exhibition we felt the market was ready for a team and we are confident that bringing the professional game there will help with the continuous growth of the sport.”

Although they don't say it, I would have to assume that they will be playing at FAU Stadium.  All the press release says is that they will be playing in Palm Beach County.  Unless they plan on playing at a high school stadium, FAU is their only option.  If so, hopefully FAU makes some money off this deal.  Not sure how successful the team will be here, but I hope it works out well for the Owls sake.

Name and logo look like it should play out of Cocoa Beach, very NASA look. Strange they don't name the home stadium though, must be negotiations still to work out for the home field.

That's what I was thinking. Hopefully FAU can land this. That would be huge for us.
