Dumbest post of all time??

"But what if I have to drive on a road other than Glades? I make a million dollars a year. I should be able to drive on Glades whenever I want to. In fact you all should move aside when I come through. I make a million dollars a year.

That has to be a joke. Nobody in their right mind would really put that.

GO OWLS!!!

Yeah I think whoever wrote that was trying to be facetious they were trying to say what the people in Boca think. It's pretty acurate and pretty funny

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: Parking

One of the best parts of our trip to Gainesville last year was walking the mile from our hotel to "the swamp" through campus stopping and talking to tailgaters and random fans.  While the climate in Gainesville in November is far different than September in Boca, it could become a nice tradition.  Parking garages right next to the stadium kills that atmosphere.  Plus, have you ever tried tailgating in a parking garage?

Actually yes…. that is what we had to do at the New Orleans Bowl. It definitely takes away from the ambiance

Re: Parking

The alumni tailgate in the parking lot wasn't that bad. I had fun. Live music too.

I assume they believe we're going to tailgate in the Innovation Village Plaza… or in the parking lots around it.

No, that is just the set-up of the stadium. Of course everybody had a good time, but it is definately not your traditional college football tailgating experience. For some reason, I was under the impression that the parking for our stadium was going to be that loooooooong runway parking lot connecting FAU & PPCC. I actually think that could work out pretty well.

That would be great for Rally Alley. At Lockhart, the band, cheer and dance all cram into a little part of the parking lot near the alumni tent, play a few songs, dance a few dances and then they march into the stadium.

Just imagine (kind of like UM's Band of the Hour does), starting at the PBCC part of the strip, walking 100 yards, stopping to play and dance, then doing it again and again and again. This would be done 30 minutes prior to kickoff and fans and tailgaters get the clue to STOP tailgating and FOLLOW the band into the game. So eventually, you'll have band, dance cheer at the first stop, then band, dance, cheer and 200 fans following them…..and so on…until they all MARCH into the stadium - with the fans having to give a ticket to get in.

That would be an awesome way to get people into the game early and get the spirit going, while incorporate the tailgate.

FAU Tailgating and Logistical Game-Day Planning should be a 6000 level course.

Re: Parking

I was looking at an aerial of the campus and I think that patch of grass between the old runway and pbcc would be good for game day parking on grass like at lockheart, I did some rough estimations and figure about 1300 spaces in the grass and another 700 or so on the runway and that's with leaving space for the stadium and there are easily another 1000-1500 spaces at pbcc, assuming we can park there, might lose a few reserved for saturday classes,  3000 open air surface spaces is pretty good for tailgating, plus the other lots around campus, garages can be reserved for those not hosting tailgate parties and they can walk to the parties elsewhere
