One last thing… there was some opposition to this project from the faculty in Science and Engineering. Essentially they didn't want to be passing "MTV's College Poolhouse" on their way to work. That's why there's some fencing and high landscaping on the north and east sides.


Man, what I wouldnt give to pass that every day to and from work?

No kidding…"So you're telling me that I have to drive by the college party pool with all of the coeds laying out every day on my way to work??? How many times can I drive to work per day!!!"

I also don't know how long the lap pool will be but you could talk to Campus Rec about it.

Are there going to be tables with umbrellas?

Didn't hear anything about sun tan lotion. Tables with umbrellas will probably be limited to make room for more recliners so people can lay out and tan.

Will it single-handedly change the FAU experience? Well, it will be part of it. The Innovation Village altogether will change FAU. Stadium, Greek Village, pool, retail… to borrow a phrase from Almost Famous, "it's all happening."

Put in a bar/pool hall across the street and a mini-publix and there would be no reason to leave.
