In the most recent update of "Ask the A.D.", Angelos said that we have until September 1st to come up with the money.

There's still some time… despite few public leads, it seems.

We need the money or the pledged money (what it will likely be) in order for us to secure a bond.  The people down at the bank want collateral so that they know we can repay it.  If we have a student fee devoted specifically for the stadium that produces $1M a year (the same as what is asked of the stadium naming rights) then we technically have a big chunk of collateral to show that we can make our monthly (or whatever) payments.

All I am saying that if the money comes from the students, they should get recognition in the form of the naming rights….plus maybe a year of free season tickets after they graduate which of course would allow the athletic department to have their info and then send them information about renewals and donations.

Alumni Stadium at Florida Atlantic University has a ring to it....an old school ring to it that remind me of HS.

Who really wanted to be named after some corporation anyways? Brighthouse phew, we are ALUMNI.

Alumni Stadium does have a nice ring to it in this world of corporate sponsors.

Now we just need to find a wealthy member of the alumni population who is willing to pledge $1,000,000 in case the current students aren't too keen on footing the bill.

I'd love to see Alumni Stadium.  I just wouldn't get married to the idea, at least not for now.  There may come a time when FAU doesn't need to rely on coporate dollars, but even if some rich alum does put up the money, there's a good chance the stadium would be named after him/her.

Sure seems like that 1 year would set us back 5.  We need that stadium in 2010 as promised to players by coaches.
