Stadium Naming Rights Protest Scheduled for 10:00 AM on Free Speech Lawn

I just got scolded via email by a season ticket holder (not for the shirts)…but apparently, they think "I" am FAU, and am responsible for naming the stadium after a prison developer.  I guess I lost that potential customer.

I just hope they don't do more research and find out that I am responsible for that whole global warming thing as well.

I bet you that they are not a season ticketholder!  Most of these people who are students who are complaining have not set one step into the stadium…bet you some of these protesters are sick to their stomachs that MJ is holding the meeting at GEO Group Stadium. What would be priceless is if MJ has the back drop behind the podium say FAU and GEO Group Stadium…rub their noses in it!!

Post the body of that email!!

Here is #1:

Shouldn't all the Owl gear now be black and white striped??? With numbers on it??

Come on folks, wake up! Giving the naming rights at a reduced price to the GEO Group!!!

Forget their track record, they are a prison group! I guess Mary Jane feels that since  a good percentage of the football players end up spending time in a prison, they should get use to working with the management company?

What the hell are you guy's and lady thinking???

Probably will not renew my seasons tickets if they go through with it!!! Lot's of friends feel the same way.

Here is #2:

Unless FAU drops GEO Group, many of us will never wear the FAU insignia again. It would be confirming university ties with a well known human rights abusers. Given the horrible media attention, it is now embarrassing to wear or give. Drop GEO Group.

You will never be able to make everyone happy.  If people found out that FAU passed on a 6M namings rights deal from GEO there would be many more people questioning the decision and making ridiculous threats.

You know what they say about opinions and ….

Can't wait for the store to open.

GO OWLS!

University of Oregon = Apple
Apple = abuse of workers in China

Just off the top of my head, with some research I bet I can find more.

Mark - Can I pick the polo shirt up?

Bank of America Stadium in charoltte. Bank of America accused of skipping foreclosure procedures and fudging records about the number of foreclosure they did. Guess what I still bank with them. I have half a mind Friday to go there, and say look you people are protesting a prison group, how about you protest these gas companies that are charging outrageous prices at the pump or the government for overregulating the gas and oil industry to cause a rise in gas prices.

I beleive ALL corporations have some type of "problem". And in todays economy, if it is consumer goods (most made overseas - try buying any clothes or electronics of ANY type) than you DEFINATELY have worker and human rights abuses up the ying yang. Ever heard of Wal-Mart or Target or Home Depot or Best Buy or basically any other retailer. And DON'T even start me on the abuses in the housing and business sectors by BANKS!

No problem USMC, I just hope some FAU SUPPORTERS will be there to list featues such as these to illustrate to the "perfect world" types that issues abound EVERYWHERE. And if they have ever bought most anything then they are indirectly supporting Human and Workers rights abuses around the world in their own selfish consumerism ways.

I wish we had a bigger name stadium sponsor but beggars can't be choosers as they say.

And just "maybe" with the added attention on GEO Group and it's business they will work harder to run it better/cleaner, and in this way FAU will be helping AID Human rights. Think about it protestors!
