Quez is making notable progress per Partridge.

If we lose this game I'm pretty sure this board will explode. And any people who were still supportive of Partridge being the guy will disappear or switch sides. If Driskell plays again on Saturday Partridge cannot use the excuse of a Freshman QB because he was the one who choose Driskell over Hankerson and let him leave the program.Posted On: Sep 23rd 2015, 10:03 AM #349459
Driskell will start Saturday. He is not ready to win DI football games, especially on the road.
Mark my words, Driskell starts we lose by 20.Posted On: Sep 23rd 2015, 10:06 AM #349460
No way Quez is not playing in this game. Driskell shows promise but we're a different offense with Quez in there. He brings so much leadership and rarely turns the ball over. You gotta think Partridge is looking at this as a must win game

Charlotte is essentially our 2003 squad…does anyone remember what record we set in 2003?
Charlie, don't let us be their first.Posted On: Sep 22nd 2015, 7:55 PM #349452
First victory over a D1 team?
I don't even want to think about what happens if they beat us.Posted On: Sep 22nd 2015, 8:31 PM #349454
Charlotte has already beaten Georgia State this year. So if we lose, we'll be their first CUSA victory.
But we already are the first FBS victory for a program. Anybody remember South Alabama?

Quez needs his legs to be effective. We dont have the playmakers on offense to win without a QB that can make plays with his legs. Which is half the reason Driskell WILL NOT win a game as our starting QB.
An ankle sprain is a funky injury…takes awhile to heal not only physically but mentally as well. If he is not confident in his ability to cut, pivot, etc. CP needs to leave him on the bench and let him have the bye week to recover completely.
He plays vs Charlotte gets hurt again and cant play…this season is COMPLETELY over.

we don't? The wide receivers looked decent to me the last game with Drisk in. Buddy only had one turnover prior, right? I think Gaskins and #20 did okay too.
how many turnovers did Quez have when he first started? was't he pulled at one point and Greg put in? Maybe my memory isn't serving me well.

No, we dont. Our WR's are EXACTLY that…decent. I like Woods and Stoshak…think they are both assets to the program. But they are not the type of WR's that can carry a freshman QB.owl in training said

Quez couldn't have won with this team as a freshman either. I am not knocking Driskell…I dont think he should be starting yet. He is too young and doesn't have the talent around him to carry him.
We have a mediocre D at best. We have Jay Warren pretty much out, Trey Rodriguez nowhere to be found. And yes, Gaskins and Clark played okay. They did not play well enough to carry a freshman QB that isn't talented enough to win games at the DI level as a freshman.
Do I think Driskell will be able to win games in 2 years as a RS Junior…probably. This is what college football is…freshman are NOT supposed to play in most cases. The spread offense changed the perception of that. Well the spread is evolving into a more physical, traditional type offense where Freshman (unless extremely talented) aren't supposed to play.
Depth, continuity, etc used to matter in college football. And since college football is cyclical, its starting to matter again. We need to get to the point where our talent is matched with experience....
