The offense now is simply a poor man’s version of last year’s offense.

I agree 100% on the OC, losing Briles has shown to be a huge loss.

Briles makes $400K at Houston, he made $350K at FAU.

Yea he’s very predictable with the jet seep and TE in the flat plays. Hasn’t worked since the Air Force game I don’t know why he continues to go to it. I think we beat LA Tech this week at home though

I would imagine the expectations for Kiffin are higher, fairly or unfairly.

Not to mention the media attention that comes with Kiffin, good or bad.

Yeah stupid excuse it’s the the same position.

What if year 1 was year 2 and then reverse?  We would be ecstatic

Lane has had one recruiting class, and an 11-3 season under his belt….I'll give him the benefit of some time to get it going….

Actually he's had two recruiting classes with his first (2017) being rated as the #1 signing class in Conference USA.

This is the type of year I would have loved last year.going into the season. However, realistically expectations are higher given what he and the team accomplished last year. Nobody is calling for him to be fired, this is all about accountability for a disappointing season - at least that's how I see it. I don't see how any of us can say we are not disappointed with how this season has unfolded, especially after dominating this conference the way we did last year.

Last year was amazing and definitely spoiled us a bit, but the transition year isn’t normally a good barometer for judging a coach. I could argue that Partridge left the cupboard stocked and I’m not sure if the roster is being managed well since Kiffin got here. We have 100 former 4 star quarterbacks on the roster but that’s not doing much to get us into the end zone.

On a positive note the defense played really hard today.

If it were reversed it would probably be a little more of the norm and understandable.  A lot of people expected less from last year and yes, we were all ecstatic when we had the season we had.

But it's not reversed, so it's kind of a moot point.  You would think there'd be a slight set back but not a complete overhaul.

He's in the same position yes, but he lost a few coaches (OC, DC, o line to name a few) and that's cause for some of the growing pains we're seeing.

And those weren't my excuses, just things you normally hear in the ether.

(I'd also add we might be getting really sensitive to the warning signs of coaching).
