Via Dieter Kurtenbach @ The Sentinel…

Artificial crowd noise was blared at the FAU offense through a speaker from the front seat of a utility cart during Wednesday's practice. It's not the first time that the Owls have practiced with artificial crowd noise this season — they brought out the speaker for Miami, ECU and USF — but for Auburn, the volume was pushed to the limit.

If we need crowd noise why are we not using our million dollar sound system in the stadium?  I mean yeah, you could mount the boom box to Anderson's shoulder but its still just a boom box (or Ghetto Blaster).

Probably has a lot to do with classes taking place in the adjacent buildings, and folks living next door in the dorms… :Music:

Rick probably nailed it on the head. That would be pretty loud there in the northern-center of campus.

Also remember that the stadium only has one field for practice whereas behind the Oxley they have two. And that's important because they're more often practicing as two or more separate groups in different parts of the fields (e.g. QBs throwing to receivers in one area, the lines practicing running under "the trampoline" to stay low in another area, the RBs running obstacles somewhere else). They only really come together intermittently to practice game-time scenarios.
