We will be more than happy to help you get the tickets for Saturday's game here in the ticket office. StubHub is a secondary ticket market where people sell there tickets back out, that is why there are not a lot of tickets. We will be able to save some money as well get you the best seats possible for Saturday when you give us a call before Saturday, at 1-866-FAU-OWLS (1-866-328-6957). I look forward to hopefully speaking with you soon.

bc.net: From a preparation standpoint has it been more difficult for the team not having many teams on the schedule that you are familiar with whereas if you were in a conference you’d have teams that you have seen in the past and might be familiar with their schemes and personnel?
DM: I would say that’s fair. We’ve seen a wide variety of different schemes of offense and defense. It’s been a lot of BCS teams and then the mid-majors we play have all been championship mid-major teams and even Florida Atlantic has a chance to go to a bowl if they win out. I think it would certainly be more fluid once we’re in the conference.
bc.net: Florida Atlantic is a couple wins away from being bowl eligible and are playing some good football of late and three of their losses have come by a combined 12 points.
DM: Yeah, it’s a really talented football team. Any time you play a team that’s based in Florida, they’re going to have great speed and that’s what Florida Atlantic has, especially on defense. They run as well as any defense we’ve played this year. There aren’t many teams that have scored a lot of points on them this season. It’s going to be a big test for the offense this weekend.
The quarterback makes them go on that side both running and throwing. He’s the main weapon running the ball and certainly can make some throws. We’ve got to find a way to get him down.
bc.net: You’ve faced some good rushing attacks this year and Florida Atlantic has a good rushing attack. What has the continual challenge to stop the run been like for the defense?
DM: It’s been our Achilles Heel all season, defensively we’ve just not been good enough to slow people down running the football and that’s going to be the challenge again for us this weekend. I’d say Florida Atlantic is a lot like Minnesota in their scheme and style of play. In fact it’s very similar to Minnesota. That’s still the challenge for us and that also dictates that our offense go out and score some points. We’re not good enough on defense right now to shut people down. We’ve got to score points to stay in the game and that’s what we’ve done the last three weeks.
bc.net: What do you see from them on defense when you look at them on tape?
DM: Just their explosiveness and speed up front. Their defensive front seven is really what concerns you. Their defensive line is not that big but they’re exceptionally quick, really fast off the ball. I think their linebackers run exceptionally well. Very similar to San Diego State. A little bit undersized but they really make up for it with their speed.
bc.net: Does having an opportunity to go out and play in Florida help with your future recruiting, having a chance to get your team out in front of a new set of eyes, especially going into the Sun Belt and that being a big recruiting region for the teams in that league?
DM: Yeah it certainly can. We have a couple kids from Florida on our team now and so any time you have a chance to go in there and play at least it gives you some name recognition.
bc.net: This week in practice what will you be working on with your team?
DM: one area we’re really concerned with is the kicking game and covering kicks because these guys have two of the best kick returners and punt returners in the country, some of the best we’ve seen. That’s flared up and been a problem for us at times too. We’re going to work hard on the kicking game and coverage teams.
Offensively it’s just making sure we have the right plan to get our playmakers the ball in their hands which we’ve done a great job of the last couple of weeks. We’ve got to make sure we continue that.
Defensively we’ve got to base everything on taking care of the run. If the pass beats us it beats us but we can’t let them just run the football.
bc.net: What have you seen the biggest improvement in over the course of the last two weeks?
DM: The one thing is offensively we’ve limited the turnovers. We still have not had a game where we don’t turn the ball over but we’ve limited to one turnover per game the last couple of games. That’s been huge. I think our offensive line play was really good and it’s only gotten better over the last five games. We’ve got some guys stepping up and making plays, especially with our wide receivers and Xavier Hall at running back. We’ve just got guys playing a little bit better more than anything on offense and that’s where most of our improvement has been.
