It's hard after a loss but I will say that this game went about as well as I had hoped. Especially with a back up QB. The turnovers are inexcusable and I think we'd have ourselves a ball game if it weren't for them. I am disappointed at how wide open Miami's receivers seemed to be. I am not a big fan of this strictly zone defensive scheme that we play. It did not work with Coach Van the year we went 1-11 in 2011 and it has not worked this year or last. You have to mix up some man to man at times and we have athletes capable of doing it.

P.S. - I was tired of hearing Miami fans saying "we are playing conservative because we play Nebraska next week." No, you're team is just not very good and I believe this year is the end of the Al Golden era. This is not sour grapes, I never expected to win this game but the Canes will be a solid 3rd or 4th place in the Coastal division this year.

But isn't that part of the issue? This wasn't a very good Miami team. Clinton Portis was calling them soft on Twitter.

We have a chance to right the ship the next two games against Buffalo and Charlotte. If we don't win these games I will say it won't show well for the current coaching staff.

Also, Crevon Leblanc is no Reaser or smith. To me he has been a disappoint the first two games

We dont win the next 2…big trouble.

All I'm saying is that with a back-up quarterback who has never taken any snaps at this level, I give the offense some credit. The turnovers really hurt us but that is to be expected with a RS Freshman QB with no game experience (the muffed punt was the start of our downfall. A senior has to secure that catch). It will be interested to see how bad Quez is hurt because we really need him. If we come out and lay an egg against UB next week, then it's time for panic mode IMO.

I thought it was insane how our team kept running the ball out of the end zone to the 15 yard line.

Here is my take. We did OK. 8 penalties, 3 fumbles 2 interceptions, and Miami didn't embarrass us. Our D stepped up. The freshmen will be really good . The young DBs have huge potential. Our fill in LBs played tough. We have an OL that can move people and runners that are better than average. Driskel/Parr over the next five years will be great. I actually left the game and watched it at home and the announcers spoke about Miami as if they were the Miami of old. Miami is a big program with really good talent, but this is NOT a great team. They have a good running game but ,IMHO, Kaaya looks average at best. Maybe he was off. Not very accurate. The UM has the talent  but Golden just isn't a big time coach. Sorry.Once again, we need to put this behind us and move ahead.I got a late text from a relative that is very knowledgable about College football and he said FAU looked like a young team with a big up side. I agree with him.

I think if Quez and Warren don't go down we are competitive in the 2nd half… Also, not sure what Stoshak was thinking when he attempted to field the ball, that was an unforced error if I've ever seen one.  The penalties hurt as well, we had them stopped the first drive then get a silly penalty and they score 7, in turn we drive down the field and get a 5 yard penalty on first and goal and end up kicking a fg from the 5.  I will say, the future is bright as far as talent goes

Stoshak made an error. It happens. He thought he could do something  and he messed up. He is playing great. I noticed that the other teams know about him and are putting their best on him. This should open up the other guys.He shouldn't think about it again. He knows what he should have done. Nothing to fix.

What did he think he could do exactly?  Return the ball for 0 yards?

Losing warren hurt us, Driskel at least in the first half was more consistent and had better throws than Quez

Hard to say what would have happened but I think their defense would have struggled with Quez running the read option.  I think Driskell struggled with the long ball in the same fashion Quez does

well quez was on crutches in the second half. I hope its a ankle sprain and not a fracture.
