fauowl,

Were 9-3, regardless of their vacating those games in 2005 they still beat us.

"So basically, FIU beat us with TY Hilton.  That's why it is not much of a rivalry.  Can't really build a rivalry when it is lopsided.  Let's find a better rival.  We will have more fans at their stadium.  Let's let them have their pretend rivalry with Miami and move on."

They are in our conference, we will be playing them every year. The FIU fans were saying the same thing about us when we were 1-11 and they were winning bowl games so get over yourself. 5 of the 9 games we won were by 10 points or less.

In any event I hope you are right that we will bring a lot of fans to their stadium because that helps them with ticket sales and helps us with presence for recruiting in Miami.

Their defense this year is very good. They forced a very good UAB offense to give up 6 turnovers. If you want to find a new rivalry game…great…who?

I did some looking into this, spoke to both FAU & Ken LaVicka and the record is 9-2.

Have corrected…

I was originally told two years ago that they had to forfeit the game, but now it is recognized as a vacate by FIU - which is what FAU has to honor.

Accordingly, we can't claim a win over a vacated game, but we aren't given a loss either.

It's like it "never happened."

Personally believe they should lose the game for having ineligible players on the field (LOTS).

Don't for one minute believe it was an "accident" either…

I thought the press facilities were bad before! We are now on the ground floor, behind the stands, literally in a tent with nasty old shaky tables, uncomfortable folding chairs, no security to be seen and one tiny A/C unit that has managed to get the temperature down to 90! Unbelievable.

The inside of this stadium is nice. There are probably 300 people in the stands at the moment, including some FAU fans and the Marching Owls.

It might be a late crowd because the traffic on the Turnpike Extension was horrendous and moving at 5 mph, at best.

The weather stinks here. The press box area is tightly crammed. Right now I'm under a tint… :(

I'm not getting the game on 106.3. Does anyone know where else I can get it online?
