It's one thing to aspire to a perceived higher job, but another to be perceived as applying for every open I-A A.D. job out there. This is starting to make FAU look bad.

What's interesting about all this is Angelos applies to all these jobs and never gets one.
That says something, don't you think?
Well people on here have said that he's a pretty s***** fundraiser… that could be part of it.

At better, bigger schools… AD's have less to do with fundraising and have Athletic Foundations set up solely to raise funds.
Like things, love people.

There is probably a non-significant amount of risk to staying at FAU as well. Angelos has accomplished amazing things here, but if the stadium doesn't go through it will have been for naught.
Why doesn't an independent Athletics Foundation exist for FAU? Isn't that the role of the Owl Club?

Why are the media and rumor mill so quiet about what is or is not going on th with stadium project and other fund-raising?
Is no news good news?
either one…but it definitely isnt "in the middle"…
its put up or shut up time right now…folks in the fundraising department have alot to work with…
my hunch is that they will either become heros, or zeroes very quickly…

With all deserved respect to Angelos, he is doing the exact same thing the fund-raiser who was fired (with a half-million dollar severance check) did,
Davenport was fired because he needed to go, not because he was job shopping. Davenport was a liability and was not working well with other members of the board and foundation. Much of the credit for donations that year was given to Davenport. A huge hunk of it was one donation from Barry Kaye. Brogan is the one that schmoozed Kaye for that donation. He gave the credit to Davenport to avoid bad publicity. Davenport was ready to play the age/race card.
From the statements I read that were given to state officials, I'm glad he's gone.
