Oh darn - had a bunch of kids here at the house watching the TV to see the FIRST OWL in Space and it's too cloudy here in Tampa - could only see the flume. My son wants to be the FIRST Owl on the moon !!!

The Launch was picture perfect and the news on the Orlando channels did mention Swanson several times this past week leading up to the launch. One of them mentioned the Banner he was taking into space.

I think that is pretty cool considering how many other astronauts have been in the program. The only one from FAU gets his alma mater mentioned and what he is doing to honor it.


I read in an article the University of Colorado, where Swanson completed his bachelors, has 18 astronaut alumni. Thats quite a few for one college.

A little bit of good news sure sounds nice after the all crap thats been in the news so far this year about FAU.
