I don't know where Alabama fits in the mix. The end of the season should be interesting for Michigan State. I don't know how the win over Northwestern will impact John L. Smith's chances of staying around. If he goes I have a suspicion that Butch Davis will be the new guy in East Lansing. Just a hunch. GO OWLS!!!

There's been some rumblings that Shula could be out at season's end in Alabama. Depends on how the season turns out obviously.

I'm not so sure about the Michigan State job, as all things go, it will depend on the openings, the best chance to win and the $$$$ in the end.

I think the Northwestern win helps John Smith because he showed he can make the adjustments to come back and win and motivate the squad. The Spartans were down by 35. It could be too little too late, or it could have been his savior for the season, we'll see.

John L. Smith's job is a toss up. That said, a win against Northwestern shouldn't mean much. MSU never should have been down by 35. GO OWLS!!!
