FAU just *had* to be in Boca, didn't it

I don't get why Boca has these visual laws.  Boca has some real nice parts but i'd say for the most part Boca is an average looking middle class community.  Rich people in Boca think they are real hot s**t.  Go to Morris county, NJ, the Hamptons, or Montgomery or Howard county, Maryland and you''ll see some real money areas.

God we are idiots…I dunno why FAU didnt say "hey Boca High, lets get together and build a stadium for both of us" share the costs, get it done sooner

Two stadiums walking distance from each other, what a waste.

they did, FAU turned down the interest…

I can understand why. FAU is trying to get out of playing at a high school stadium. Beink linked to Boca High would probably hold us down even more. It'd be different if we already had the stadium, we could just tell Boca High that they could use our stadium, just pay us. But as far as building a stadium with them, I'd say FAU was wise to turn it down.

I think the idea was that instead of them investing to improve their stadium or whatever they did, they could get on board with our stadium, we build it and they use it and pay us…it would have helped to get the stadium up sooner.

Know what makes me sick? FIU having a 45,000 seat stadium in 2011 while our 30k is a year old.  They made a commitment and are way ahead and that pisses me off.

I believe it was around $1M in upfront monies, and then they wanted certain usage rights, but FAU deemed them too lofty in request…

Now, that $1 would be pretty nice to have, now wouldn't it?

Middle class community?  Look anywhere east of Federal in Boca and see if you can find a nice middle class home for under a Mill. Hell my neighbor just paid 1.9 for the house next to me so he could tear it down and build a real house.  I can understand the visual laws to some degree, i personally dont want boca to end up looking like fort lauderdale or pompano thats why i stay here but there should be exceptions made when it comes to educational facilities and agencys that serve the public needs.

Ok it's a nice upper middle class area but nothing special.  That's just my opinion.

A lot of the homes right around the school do look "middle class", but trust me, the prices are well out of the middle class range.  It's kinda stupid really, but thats the way it is.  S. Fla was way too expensive in general for me, but it "looks" nice.

Someone mentioned the mizner park grass areas, do they not let you hang out there for concerts anymore?  maybe I misunderstood, that was always a fun time.  We always used to try and park right there along the center in one of our lifted trucks and have styrofoam coolers full of natty lights for all the shows.  People in Mizner always thought we were all trashy college students anyway, so we just kicked it up a notch. ;D

According to Forbes, Boca Raton has three of the ten most expensive gated communities in the U.S. The Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club holds the #1 spot, The Sanctuary takes #6, and Le Lac takes the #8 spot.

I think you drastically underestimate the wealth in Boca Raton.

And we can't get $10M in private monies to build a stadium…….

Right because they have no connection to us and every organization youc an think of, big or small, is trying to siphon money from them as a donation. We're competing with, you know, BRCH and the local Equestrian Club and Save The Trees and so on
