Coker studied too, talking to coaches in similar situations, like South Florida's Jim Leavitt, Georgia State's Bill Curry and Florida Atlantic's Howard Schnellenberger.

"This, to me, is as exciting as a national title search in terms of what we can be, and to see it happen," Coker said. "How many people get to start something from scratch?"

Welcome to San Antonio, Coach Coker!

The school he is coaching at, UTSA, is very similar to FAU in a lot of ways. I expect UTSA to be very successful in Div. 1-AA and transition into 1A in 2013 - 2015. They have a great AD and a hard working athletics department.

They're building an athletics village too? What do you know about it, Smitty?

Their athletics villiage will be located off campus -about five miles from the "main" campus. The City of San Antonio voted for a visitors tax to go towards funding that village, among other things. The village will also be used for the school district to use.

It will have football, baseball, basketball, softball and soccer.
