Dont want to get into a political debate…but how do you hold a man in contempt for getting a blow j?  One of the three reasons I get out of bed in the morning is the slim chance of that happening for me on that day.

do we want to know the other two??

Lol…

Coming from NY where a good majority of people use mass transit or public transportation to get around especially to and from NYC, I was surprised it wasn't anything like that down here when I first came here for college. I would constantly take the LIRR (Long Island Rail Road) into the city which takes you right to Penn Station then you catch a cab or hop on a subway. I remember asking around when I first came down here if people take the Tri-Rail to Ft. Lauderdale. Even now I don't know the first thing about Tri-Rail, I know there's a station not far from my house, on Hillsboro but I never been in one and don't know anyone who has, seems like everyone drives to get to work or wherever they have to go.

With gas prices being so ridiculous and the possibility of them going even higher in the future I wonder if Tri-Rail would ever consider making it more of an option for people, expanding where they go and running more trains (obviously it will cost a lot of money to do this) but maybe it helps cut down on the amount of gas we use and driving we do.

Tri-Rail just finished a huge double-tracking project to run more trains. They used to run every 30 mins/1hr. Now, they run every 15 mins during rush hour; with almost double the amount of trains they used to run, so it makes a lot more convenient to use. The only expansions I know Tri-Rail is doing, is at the new Miami Central Station next to Miami Int'l Airport. Besides that, I think they have future plans of running on the FEC lines that run from the Port of Miami through Downtown Miami and continuing north to West Palm.

The Single WORST President of All Time
Herbert Hoover ? (who, for all intent purposes, single-handedly put us in the great depression)

but… of course, George W. Bush is the worst of all time, right? because he defended our freedom and took action when Bill Clinton was getting blown in the oval office and forgetting all about the growing terrorism in the middle east

Bush haters: i love your pathetic words, lol

There are a lot of those, as it turns out:

A recent poll showed that 69% of Americans disapprove of President Bush… and that number is not just because of liberals. "In the poll, 52% of conservatives and 68% of Republicans approved of the job he is doing. Both are record lows among those groups… Only four presidents have scored lower approval ratings since the Gallup Poll began regularly measuring it in the mid-1940s."

Source: USA Today
http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-05-08-bush-approval_x.htm

Maybe it's because he says things like this:

"If you've got somebody in harm's way, you want the president being – making advice, not – be given advice by the military, and not making decisions based upon the latest Gallup poll or focus group." –George W. Bush, New Albany, Ind., Nov. 13, 2007

Tri-Rail is also proposing this whole system of "transit-oriented development" with the key idea being that you can build your life around the Tri-Rail… they want to turn stations like the one on Yamato into a hub with hotels, housing, retail, etc.

Re: Got gas?

interesting… so you're saying Gallup Polls, CNN/USA Today Polls, Rassmussen Polls, New York Times Polls, MSNBC Zogby Polls, etc etc etc etc etc should dictating the plan for on-the-ground military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq?  you think the American people (biased and busy with their own day-to-day business) should run the military operations and not the President of the United States and the military leadership, including the Joint Chairs and commanders?

what exactly is wrong with his quote? i am not understanding your beef with what he said… unless you believe polls should dictate public policy….?

Hmm That would help quite a bit, The current schdule on line still shows every 1/2 hour, which means if you miss your train your FUBAR'd if going to work, and PISSED off if coming home. Every 15 minutes wouldnt be too bad.

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

That's an interesting idea, the whole country is all about "going green" now and with gas prices the way they are I'm sure more business people would take the tri rail especially if they live out of town they can stay at say an extended stay, get on the tri-rail and take it to Miami for business and then come back to the hotel and not have to worry about renting cars and driving all over.

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Uh, I didn't say the Gallup Polls should dictate policies on military operations. I believe, as you do, that the military should give the President their best data, make a suggestion on the most effective way to go forward and s/he should heavily favor that choice because it is an informed one.

But look at this shortened version of the same quote:

"If you've got somebody in harm's way, you want the president being – making advice, not – be given advice by the military…" –George W. Bush, New Albany, Ind., Nov. 13, 2007

Do you see now?
