Newspaper Layoffs

It looks like the internet is killing the newspaper. Massive layoffs at the Post, and buyouts at the Sentinel appear to be on the way. I hope we don't lose anyone relevant to FAU sports.

Marcus is the only beat reporter, although others do specials occassionally…hopefully he is not affected…

You just had to know this was coming sooner or later. Almost nobody buys a paper anymore.

I echo your statements about losing someone relevant to FAU sports. I think Marcus Nelson may have covered his last FAU story but Ted Hutton's blog is booming so it wouldn't make a lot of sense to shut that down…

Any idea how many people view Ted's blog a day? How much of an increase in traffic he has seen of late? I know he occasionally says for all the new people…
