The official smack thread

You guys have All-Americans and all sun belt mixed up.  Two totally different things.  There has never been an All-American from FAU, Crusty Smith and that Polo guy was all Sun (big deal, it's like being player of the week for a HS team).  UCF had 2 this year (24k for 1st team RB and Joe Burnett cornerback)………….http://www.nfldraftdog.com/NCAA_2007/All-Americans.htm ………….In fact, no players from Sun Belt made it on the all-american list.  Can anyone name 1 starter in the NFL who played for FAU.  There are 2 starters playing on Sunday (Atari Bigby and Asante Samuel) who played for UCF.  Seems like the only excuse you guys have for the no exposure is this stupid 7 year thing.  USF never says anything like that and they are good (spanked us soundly) but they don't go around saying "we lost becasue we have been around for x # of years".  Now on to the hospital note.  I still work for the hospital (sorry about you losing your job) but the Hospital was going to take state bonds to pay for the new hospital but since the hospital posted a 43 milloin loss last year, the state pulled out.  We lost that much money due to the economy, paying out agency nurses becasue of the nursing shortage, the medicare RAC program (13 million) and a few other minor glitches in Accounting.  You have prove that you will be making so much money in order to take the bonds.  The hospital has been scaled down from 650 beds to 450 beds with room to expand.

So I know more of what is going on over there than you (I have been working there for 7 years).  I know it's the UM but it's was going to benefit FAU more and put them more on the map.  The hospital has not been finalized and don't be surprised if it's all together scratched.  I know someone very high up (above van lith).  So with that said, where is FAU supposed to get this money for the new stadium and academic village.

FOOTBALL WRITERS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA named CB Polo to its All-America team. So no, there isn't confusion. At least not on my behalf.

Wow, two starters in the NFL. That is great. You guys have a real dynasty going there in Orlando. C'mon, get serious. Two starters isn't impressive. There are high schools with more NFL starters than UCF.

Fine with the 7 year thing. You bring up USF. They are further along than FAU. Despite what negativity you might throw at us FAU is the fastest start-up team to ever beat a 1-A opponent. The fastest to ever earn a conference title, and the fastest to ever win a bowl. I know that you are going to start bashing the Sunbelt and that it fine. The truth is that FAU football is developing at such a rapid pace there is every reason to believe that in 5-7 years FAU will have far surpassed what UCF has done in its "storied history."

And if I'm not mistaken didn't Laskowski win a Super Bowl ring last season with Indy?

Come on… you're old enough to work for a hospital but not old enough to refrain from making childish swipes at the name of our QB? Why can't you just have a civilized conversation like an adult – a college-educated adult no less – and say, "From all the evidence I can see, there has never been an All-American from FAU, although you did have two highly-regarded Sun Belt players?"

Okay. 650, 450, either one is fine. BRCH officials are still on public record saying that they fully intend to move forward with the project. Again, as I stated before, regardless of whether they actually build a facility on campus, officials from UMMSM@FAU have stated that they can still run students through clinicals at the existing BRCH facility with the option (as they have been doing) of sending them down to Jackson Memorial.

Are you truly interested in knowing or do you just want us to delineate the sources so you can shoot then down one by one as an ego booster? Because that's what your mature gestures have indicated so far and I don't want to waste my time.

For someone that has worked for BRCH for so long, it saddens me that you are unaware of the great things FAU is doing for this community.  If you did, I wonder why it would be your "goal" to bash its fanbase on their own message board.

Which makes me wonder how true you really are.

I worked in the foundation department.  Guess which department supports the hospital funding?  Yeah, that department.  So, wave your 7 years around all you want, or throw out big names for all I care.  If they weren't committed to it, they wouldn't be.  At this point, what do they have to lose?

Link: Polo makes All-American

Note: 1 - If you scroll down a bit you will see that Polo is indeed listed as an All-America for the Defense.

Note 2: - We never said we lost any games because of only having had a program for seven years, we did however use "the seven years" to show that we have been around for a short period of time which does have an impact on how many players we have been able to bring up to play in the NFL and even though we never had a player drafted, we have had several play on NFL teams & NFL europe & CFL.  And we also have used it to explain the one of the problems we do face building our fan base, which takes time and is growing every year.

Note 3: - Let us worry about where the money is coming from, athletics is working deligently on this & many have already shown support & requested Private Suites, 21 available right now and what we are working on to finalize the deal is the Naming Right deal.

Polo was named to the 2007 AON INSURANCE FWAA FRESHMAN ALL-AMERICA TEAM which is not the true all american list.  Look at the list I provided wher eyou see McFadden, Colt Brennan, Crabtree, Jake Long, Glenn Dorsey, etc……..  Also, since when was FAU fanbase FAU.  Big deal, we are across the street from that sore spot of a university.  Most of us graduated up north ( UCF, UF, FSU, many UM but not so many from FAU.  There is no mention of FAU anywhere in our hospital except for those very attractive student nurses running around on the floors.  Every so often we will get an FAU student who thinks FAU is better than any other team in the state so we basically have to put them in their place.  I will get the same crap like the 0-12 season, getting beaten by USF badly, bad QB so then we will give it back like lowest average in NCAA, no on-campus stadium and play in a dump,  fossil of a coach, play in sun bely, etc etc…..Not all FAU fans are bad but those who start running their mouths about how they are better than anyone else in the state especially UCF, just check the rankings and see who is better.  Oh and if you want to get technical, we were the only conference champion in the state, you are the co-champion (share with Troy)

You have had an on campus stadium for 1 year what makes you so high and mighty? You played in a $#*tty stadium away from campus before your stadiun on campus was built so how is this any different? Because after 1 year of playing on an on campus stadium you're  just so much better then everyone?

Sore spot of a campus? Are you kidding me!?!? You went to school at UCF and FAU is a sore spot? You need to pull your head out of your ass (sorry bytor) and take a look at the world around you. FAU is anything BUT a sore spot. It is probably one of the nicest universities in the country.

You insist on coming on here and bashing FAU with your nonsense comments. When we tell you how much an idiot you are then the conversation reverts back to "We have better facilities" "We have more NFL players then you"

GROW UP and go back to your own board

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

You have to be kidding me. Your list is the NFLDraftDog.com All-America team. WTF is that?? If you knew anything you would realize that there are numerous All-American teams. ESPN, AP, FWAA, Sporting News, etc. Some have more credibility than others. I am going to go out on a limb and say that the NFLDraftDog.com list isn't too credible. Read the top of the page you provided. It says "1st Annual NFL Draft Dog All-America Team."

Amazing UCF fan can say whatever trash they want, but  once we introduce FACTS like the 0-12 season they don't like it.  Boo Hoo Hooo, to borrow a phrase from a Knight fan.

I get it, anything that doesn't have anything to do with UCF is nothing but garbage, the rest of the State of Florida must now bow to the Ulmighty Knights - why because they say so.

What a Joke.
