Tragedy in Moore, Oklahoma

I just wanted to send my thoughts and prayers out to everyone in Moore, Oklahoma as well as their family and friends across the country who were effected by this devastating tornado.

Stay strong! The people of America will help you recover and rebuild like we have done so many times in the past!

Re: Tragedy in Moore, Oklahoma

This one hits a little close to home for me…

I used to live 15 minutes from Moore…and recall the last round that struck there in 2003 with 318 MPH winds - an F5 on the Fujita Scale. Hurricanes are intense, but just remember watching the thing on the weather saying "please do not come here".

In fact, the area got hit three times in five years - which is just ridiculous.

Now, just 10 years later, it gets hit again.

They talk a lot on the news about the one in 1999. You were already in Boca by then right? I don't know if you still have friends or family that live there but I hope they are all ok and I hope they are safe. Homes can be rebuilt, lives cannot. They will recover and I know we, as a country, will do as much as we can to help.

Kevin Durant is donation a million dollars to disaster relief

Matt Kemp said he will donate $1,000 for every HR he hits between now and the All Star Break (July 14)

I hope more athletes and celebrities follow their lead and step up and donate. Especially those big in the country music scene who may be from that area

The best way to help these people is give them something tangible: donate blood, money, etc.

Awesome gestures by the athletes!

It's very tough to watch and it breaks my heart seeing all these children scared like that and then seeing all these heroic and amazing things these teachers did to save the lives of these young kids. It's good to see for all the bad people their are in this world there are also some really good ones too!

Did not know this, but Keith grew up three streets away from where the major damage occurred…

If you can handle the 30 second at the beginning of this vid it is worth the view. He's on the scene…photos show it all…wow:

Blake Shelton is working with NBC to organize a benefit concert in the wake of the powerful tornado that ripped through Oklahoma on Monday.

"We'll know more about it in the next 24 hours," Shelton told Billboard after Tuesday's taping of "The Voice." "I'm hoping it will raise a lot of money. Obviously, it will be televised and will happen really quickly."

The country star is a native of Ada, Okla., about 75 miles south of where the tornado struck.
