Lets face it, this is like dennis quaid in Any Given Sunday.  He wants to retire but his family (read:wife) is so used to being a football wife she doesnt want the fame to stop and forced him back in.

A few thoughts on the Favre situation.

He would not have done much to improve Tampa Bay. They are more than a QB away from having any real success.

The Packers are no worse off than they were in the spring when he announced his retirement. The media circus although strong was fairly short lived. Think of how bad it would have been if he stayed in GB as the backup QB. At least now they can move on as they planned.

The chances of the Jets improving substantially due to Favre's presence are 50-50. Two years ago people were pushing for his retirement after a less than stellar season on his part. He could be as could as last year or he could revert to his 2006 form. Nobody really knows.

Green Bay will not be the same without him and hopefully his departure will be a benefit to the Bears who don't have a QB worth a #$%&.

What?  They lost by 10 points to the eventual Super Bowl Champ in the playoffs…  How do you measure success?

Farve wouldn't be a good fit for the team that lives by it's defense.  Garcia is the perfect ball control QB for the Bucs.  What they need to put them over the top is keeping their running game healthy for the whole year.

I just don't see Tampa Bay as being a team that is a QB away from the Superbowl. Minnesota yes. Tampa Bay no.

As for success, the playoffs are nice, but anything less than a conference title and a Superbowl appearance is falling short.

I'm not a Jets fan by any means but I don't think they're a garbage organization… they weren't the ones caught cheating.. Their coach wasn't the one who made a sex tape with a married woman lol  ;D

Assuming you are a pats fan, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

As a Cowboys fan I can't even criticize how many former cowboys players are in jail or are being accused of rape or dead of drug overdose

I'm sorry i don't see signal stealing as a form of cheating.  If I learned anything from spygate it's ok to steal signals just don't use a video camera.  As far as Bill Belichick's character, I think Jim Brown's opinion of him holds more credibility than some unnamed internet source.  I guess that sex tape must be buried underneath Giants stadium with the Ram's walkthrough tape and Hoffa….. :
