Not so fast CBS retracted.

CBS News retracted?

That's a first (for me), but good to hear!

Re: Joe Paterno's tenure at Penn State will soon end

Last I heard his son Jay made a statement saying the CBS report was untrue, his father is still alive and continues to fight.

True or untrue it is looking grim for Joe Pa. Very sad, I don't think it was the cancer that will end up killing him, I think he will have died of a broken heart. He loved that school probably more than his own kids. Yes, what he did was wrong and it could be debated about forever but that school and football program was literally his life

So sad. Guy was such a legend. You have to respect what he did there. He WAS Penn State. We'd be extremely lucky if we could ever get a winning coach to stick around that long and build FAU into a nationally-known powerhouse.

And to think those nutcases at the Westboro Baptist Church have said they're going to picket his funeral?  >:(

Wow, that is just infuriating.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

Wow! That's disgusting. I hope the police are there to prevent them from doing this. Don't these people have something better to do?

No, apperantly they exist to be about the worst examples of "Christians" residing on planet earth.

Last time I checked, Grace, Love, and Humility were the pillars - not judgement. Unforutnately, the latter is all they exhibit.

Do you need to stand and witness when asked by someone about a matter (advice), or when charged (parenthood)? Of course. But to self inject, in a ridiculous behavioral display which undermines something like a funeral, is not only dispectful but absurd.

Always go back to WWJD - "What would Jesus do?"

Would Jesus go to Paterno's funeral with a cardboard sign, and shout and drive attention to himself while distracting from a ritutal that the Jews themselevs practiced?

NOT.

They are NOT Christians, I don't care what they call themselves.
