NFL Analysts: Tim Tebow Hated Because of His Faith . . .

I agree Jab..it's not just the QB, I think it's more of a coaching/front office problem more than anything. That's why I think it is more important for new leadership, keep Henne and give him some better option on O and get a new coach. I'm not sure Sparano is a complete moron but things aren't working and sometimes there just needs to be a change to get back in the right direction.

Have you not been paying attention the past decade??!?  It's ALL about the QB! You don't win anymore without a QB.  QB's make the coach look smart.  Belichick was a losing coach without Brady.  Of course the Fins have other holes…lots of them, but they have to get the QB position fixed first or the rest just doesn't matter.

A good QB can make the difference but I don't think it's a must. Look at the Ravens, they won the Superbowl with a great D. Even the Giants, Eli is good but he's not great.

I'd really consider trading down and getting an extra pick out of it. If you can grab a Landry Jones, Matt Barkley or even a Case Keenum and add an extra pick or two as well I think it's well worth it.

If Luck had come out last year like many were expecting, no doubt Landry would be the # 1 QB taken and if Miami had the # 1 pick it may be Lose for Landry instead of suck for Luck

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Well actually no, I haven't been paying attention. I never cared for the NFL. I've only started following the Dolphins closer in the past 2-3 years. And in my opinion Henne isn't that bad, he's not the best but I think there may be more more to it than just the QB

The Ravens was a decade ago, and probably the best D since the 85 Bears.  They are the exception to the rule no doubt.  Without a QB, you better have luck on your side and be able to control the ball through a serious running game and defense.  The Giants were one of the biggest upsets of all time and Eli is a better than average QB.  They won because they had the ability to get to the QB.  The league is built for offense these days…all of the rules make it easy to score, not defend.

You're right, its not a MUST but there is a reason Indy has the same record FAU does this year….and its not the head coach.

Been trying to say this for the last 2 years on here.  Its not 100% fool proof, but a lot of people dont realize that without a good QB its very tough to win.  Howard hasn't lost his mind or the ability to coach he lost Rusty Smith and a great QB/OC in Gary Nord.  That is the truth of the matter.  If people dont realize that we would be 6-6 at a minimum with Rusty this year they are crazy.

That being said, its HS's job to get a QB that can win in here…and just like MANY before and after he missed.

I agree with you about FAU and our QB problems, but in college, you can win with a great running game and a good defense.  Although, I maintain that the loss of Nord is the single biggest reason for our current mess.  Not ony was he a good coach…he groomed our QB's.  There is a reason that Van Camp was ready to step in and play and this current group looks overmatched.

The NFL, though, just being OK at the QB spot is no longer good enough.  It's a passing league now.  The Dolphins have spend the past decade trying to be the Ravens, when everyone else (including the Ravens) has realized that it's no longer possible to win like that.  That's why Parcells was such a gigantic failure here.  His system is so antiquated.  He had the #1 pick in the draft and took a left tackle over Matt Ryan!  If you don't have an elite QB in the NFL, you aren't winning anything.  Once you fix the QB position, everything else falls into place.  For proof, just look at how many holes that Peyton Manning's greatness masked in Indy.

Agreed.  You can win with a great running game and a good defense in college BUT your QB cant be as bad as Graham Wilbert.  You cant toss pick 6's all day and win with a methodical approach like running the ball and playing field position.  I do think this FAU team is better at EVERY postion this year except QB and WR.

Re: NFL Analysts: Tim Tebow Hated Because of His Faith . . .

I'm really glad that the fins game was not on TV up here yesterday, it sounds like it was pretty hard to watch.  I think Miami has a multitude of problems, but I honestly think our biggest problem is the management.  Under Huizenga we weren't great, but atleast they were sometimes competitive.  Ever since he started selling off pieces of ownership, we have gone steadily downhill.  We have drafted all kinds of players for all types of positions over the last decade and nothing has worked.  It's just an opinion but I feel that Steve Ross probably gets a little more involved in football decisions than he should.  The Dolphins organization has become pathetic and reduced to celebrating an out of area college's 3 year old accomplishments just to try and sell tickets.  In a few weeks they're gonna honor UM and Schnellenberger, but after that whats their next gimmick?  Bobby Bowden retired a few years ago, maybe they can present him with a plaque or something, that'll sell a few tickets.  :D

No, the biggest problem isn't management…it's the QB.  Period.  This team hasn't had the guts to fix the problem in over a decade.  They just put band-aids on it…using 2nd round picks instead of 1st rounders…signing other teams backups or castoffs.  That's why this team has been perennially mediocre….and now horrendous.  If they fix the QB spot, everyone around the team will look a lot smarter.
