University of Tennessee

The enrollmemt for the 2 schools Miami is 15000 and UT is at 21000 That isn't a big gap. And Tennessee has always had large drawing crowds, and just to let you know it was over 10 years ago as well when Miami was in a national title game. I'm sorry to say if Miami had a lot to offer they would be winning in a lackluster ACC. it doesn't really matter what I have to say because clearly your a blind Miami fan who can't face reality that Miami is no longer the program it once was and never will be. They are way behind the 21st century in facilities it's an issue they will face going forward. Not saying UT is a perfect program by any means, but light years ahead of Miami at this point.

What "facilities" do they need?

You need to pull Ibis's "beak" out of your mouth and come on board as a FAU fan.

In the Miami thread, many of you said Al Golden would be stupid to turn this offer down.  Can one of you please explain to me why so many coaches have turned this position down?  Many coaches from lesser programs and lesser conferences.  Mike Gundy and Charlie Strong are the most recent of several.

Seems to me that UT truly is the dumpster fire I described it as.

I'll hang up and listen.

:P

I think your stuck in the 90's the "U" has fallen behind in facilities to average programs, and has lost the persona that your going to the league if your going there. Last i checked they are barely putting players in the NFL anymore. Since moving to the ACC they have barely been relevant. The university of Tennessee draws 90 thousand people on a bad day, whereas Miami draws 15 thousand on a bad day, and can't even come close to a sell out. Miami's fan base is not even real considering the vast majority have never intended the school. So to say Tennessee is a dumpster fire and Miami isn't is truly absurd. Tennessee has more to offer on their little pinky than Miami does.

Miami has always had low drawing crowds.  That what happens when you compare a private school to public.

No sir.

The Trojans averaged 74,806 fans per-game this past season, which was a little more than 12,000 higher than the Washington Huskies, who finished second in attendance. Oregon, Arizona State and UCLA rounded out the top-five. Washington State averaged the fewest fans by far, with a putrid average of 28,791 fans in attendance.

They had one previously, the Orange Bowl. It was "theirs" they didn't share an NFL stadium wtih a team that happens to be in another county. We've lived playing far from home, it does nothing to engage the fan base and also does nothing in the facilities arms race that is currently going on in college football.

Face it, when UM decided not to move forward with an on campus stadum after the Orange Bowl they made a decision to become a second tier football program. They can't even compete with UCF on the facilities front (let alone the likes of the "national powers" that you think they deserve to be compared to). That's a true statement.

Thank you post of the day Tennessee is so far ahead of the U they are still recruiting on swag and the fact they were good over 10 years ago. If your a big time recruit and you go see UM play NC State and there are 25 thousand people there and you go to Tennessee and they are playing school of blind there is 100000 thousand it makes a difference.

I am also just going to add that their athletic facilities ie weight room, academic areas, and recreation areas  are so below what UCF and USF just to name a couple they are becoming a second tier program in their own state let alone the country

Do you have any idea 1. what real estate costs in Coral Gables and more importantly 2. building restriction in Coral Gables are?  An NFL team couldn't afford to build a stadium in CG.
