USF fans are throwing around names like Phillip Fulmer (former Tennessee coach), Tommy Tuberville (former Auburn coach) and Tommy Bowden (former Clemson coach)
keep dreaming USF fans
as for the state of florida, howard will coach one year into the new stadium and then hang it up I think. That's means he'll retire after the 2011 season………….. or 2099. odds are 2099 for the stadium :D
actually according to ESPN Tubberville is a candidate and so is the offensive coordinator at Florida. There's 1 more but I can't remember his name
My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Next should be:
O'Leary - Just because he is stupid enough to lie on a resume for Nortre Dame (he didn't know they would check??)
:D
The guy is the only reason UCF is not better than they are…we should be happy he is there!
Happy why? What exactly are we competing for?
Recruits?
I've followed the stories on nearly every commitment we have for 2010, and I don't think I've seen FAU once. Maybe the Miami Central kids were being recruited by FAU but I didn't see anything.
I don't follow them that closely, but would be shocked if that is indeed the case…

Anyway… if there's a great player in the state of Florida, I'm certain we're all chasing after him. I would be very surprised if there was, say, an O-line standout from Miami being recruited by UCF and FAU coaches weren't talking to him as well. We may go after guys who are more comfortable in a pro style offense - particularly quarterbacks - but it should be pretty much fair game.

I think USF has a very good shot at Tuberville. As much as some FAU fans may not want to admit it, USF is an attractive program for coaches and it is officially a big time program. They are in a good area for recruiting, they are consistently competitive in a BCS conference, they have cracked the top 25 on numerous occasions, they draw fans, and they can afford to pay a named coach with experience (Leavitt was making $1.5 million so they can be expected to pay that for their new coach). It will be interesting to see who they land.
GO OWLS!!!
Nope, can't afford him- bank on it. USF could barely pay their assistant coaches and they are going to take a cost bath with the money owed to Leavitt after this ordeal. Don't forget that they just took a huge financial hit in going to Toronto for their bowl game, too.
Tuberville was making twice at Auburn what USF could give him just in base salary alone, much less pay the caliber of assistants that he would want.

I haven't followed that closely, is Leavitt being fired for cause or did they come to an agreement to just part ways and USF is going to pay out some severance? Last I checked, he hit a freaking player, doesn't that mean he just gets canned?
