Just messing with you but we are actually the Burrowing Owls but we know how fierce that sounds.

I just don't understand the "Golden" Panther thing (which I believe you officially dropped a year or so ago) , why not just the Panthers?

What's the difference between: The Burrowing Owls but only saying FAU Owls & The Florida Panthers calling themselves FIU Golden Panthers? We know Owls means burrowing owl and we know Golden Panthers means Florida Panther (who happens to be GOLD!). And yes, we did drop the Golden - not officially - but it is rarely seen used now.
