I dont think he'll have any issues. He proved this year that even without the threat of RGIII to gain yards he can stil produce.Posted On: Dec 30th 2013, 1:09 PM #325298
Still think it depends on the new coach. Morris fit perfectly into Mike's zone blocking scheme.

1000+ yard rushers can fit into quite a few different offensive schemes. If Dan Marino had an alfred morris in the backfield he may not have broken as many passing records but he would likely gone to more superbowls.Posted On: Dec 30th 2013, 3:42 PM #325304
Marino's problem wasn't the backfield…Marino never had a defense.

Oh really? So please explain a couple of things….
Clinton Portis averaged 5.5 YPC while with Shanahan, post Shanahan never averaged more than 4.3 YPC
Rueben Droughns averaged 4.5 YPC in 2004 with the Broncos never averaged higher than 4 YPC after
Mike Anderson had 2 1000 yard seasons with the Broncos in 5 years and had a total of 250 yards in 2 seasons in Baltimore
we can go on and on Bell, Gary, etc…. all had success in Denver that they were never abe to duplicate anywhere else
Clearly, the next coach will have an offense built around RGIII not Morris so we will just have to wait and see

Shanahan had a reputation of turning late running backs and making them stars…Alfred was perfect for his running schemes. Alfred is a hard worker and doesn't cause trouble but that doesn't make him succeed with a new coach…lets say the new guy wants to run what Philly is running…that is not Alfred. So hopefully everything works out for him but RB's have short lives in the NFL.

Can't beleive Gore got Pro Bowl over Alfred again. Alfred had 150 yards more rushing AND half a yard per carry better average AND Gore played on a good team. Prety darn good 2nd year for Alfred none the less!Posted On: Dec 30th 2013, 10:19 PM #325323
To play devil's advocate, Gore is amazing in pass protection. I'm pretty sure Alfred will still make it to the Pro Bowl this year
