I just caught this notion…must have missed Tubas remark previously in a hasty "speed read drive by"…lol

Although i am pretty sure he is spot on with his assertion that the notion would not be well received:

I'm pretty sure we'll be going. But you have to remember that call is outside of FAU's hands. FIU Athletics is the one in play here. They could ask us not to come. Travel is never a given and schools have ways of keeping other bands out to keep the home field advantage. For example when the Marching Owls traveled to UF the other year the school(SG) paid for a block of seats for us to sit at. In the SEC visiting bands have to pay.

Very good point. The host school determines who comes. My numbers may be off, but I believe there is an NCAA mandate of a minimum number of six cheerleaders/dancers/people that cheer on the sidelines, one mascot and four tickets per traveling player (and a maximum number of players that can travel) for visiting teams. Everything else is optional.
