Re: 2011 Sun Belt Football Standings
Summary:
Troy 20 FIU 23 OT
WKU 31 ULM 28 OT
UNT 14 ASU 37
ULL 45 MTSU 20
Of note:
The Belt now has two Bowl Eligible squads in ULL (7-2), and ASU (6-2).
FIU should follow suite soon enough at 5-3 overall with WKU, FAU, ULM and MTSU remaining.
Sitting at 4-4 with four contests yet to play, the Hilltoppers could make it a fourth. But they will likely have to get past either the Panthers or Trojans to do so with LSU (L) and UNT (W/L) being the other two opponents left on their schedule.
Even then, not sure it would be enough for a bid.

Summary:
Troy 14 at Navy 42
ULM 35 ULL 36
FIU 9 WKU 10
ASU 39 FAU 21
MTSU 0 Tennessee 24
Of note:
ULL and ASU solidify their chances for post season play, and WKU moves one step closer towards becoming Bowl eligible with a 10-9 eking over FIU.
Hilltopper Bobby Rainey moves past the 4,000 yard mark for his career behind a 155 yard effort on the ground against the Panthers.

Re: 2011 Sun Belt Football Standings
Summary:
UNT 38 Troy 33
ULL 20 ASU 31
MTSU 14 ULM 42
FAU 7 FIU 41
WKU 9 LSU 42
Of note:
FIU becomes the third Sun Belt team with six wins on the year, and there could easily be a fourth in WKU (UNT & Troy remain).
When's the last time (if ever) that has happened, and how many will get to play in the post season?
The league's RPI is simply not strong enough to support the whole enchilada, IMO.
Will be interesting to see how it all plays out, and program politicos are likely already on the campaign trail in preparation of swaying the decision makers overseeing the "selection battle".

Troy 18 WKU 41
FIU 31 MTSU 18
UAB 35 FAU 38
ULL 37 Arizona 45
Of note:
Alfred Morris stomps out four rushing TD's en route to a 198 yard net performance on the ground, and Owls' QB Graham Wilbert has arguably his best game of the season going 16-of-25 for 188 yards with no INT's while avoiding a sack.
Bobby Rainey becomes the Toppers all time rushing leader, and Coach Willie Taggert looks to be on the way to Sun Belt Coach of the Year after WKU posts a 7-5 overall and 7-1 conference mark for the year. The team went 2-10, 2-6 in 2010.

WKU's chances took a hit with the selection, but they could still have many doors that could open:
