I don't think we will win the SBC, but were going to be contending next year if we continue on the path we are going. And with the recruits we are pulling in, we are going to continue to get better and better. I can't wait for the future of FIU football, the best part is it is becoming more of a reality after every week..

Umm we have always had athletes…. We could play with teams, but we didn't have depth. Now we have more depth another year of experience and our coaching staff is getting these kids to beleive in themselves. It shows.

FIU is definately improving. They are now not in the discussion for worst team in the country and that is a big step up for them after the past 2 seasons. That said, and not taking anything away from their 2 wins, they have beaten 2 pretty terrible teams. Toledo lost 31-0 to Ball St. yesterday and UNT could be the absolute worst team in the country. But they have beaten them handily which is what they are supposed to do. I guess my point is that, yes, FIU is better, i'm just not sure how much better. Either way, they are on the right track.

Noone expected us to win the Belt last year.. The Sun Belt has such parity its ridiculous, except of course NT, who appears to be flounderingly horrible
Absolutely. Any SBC team can beat any other every week of the season.

I agree generally on your points. Just having two consectutive AWAY wins for our win-devoid program is monumental. However, I do think many are still saying (wrongly, I believe) that FIU is the worst team in the nation….I made the same points you are making about Toledo losing to Ball State in one or our boards as well to bring those wins to a proper, non-passionate, perspective…however let's make a point in terms that Ball State is 6-0 currently, ranked #25 in the AP poll before playing Toledo, with OOC wins over Navy, and at Indiana (42-20), so that's not a necessarily a terrible team to lose to. Also, Toledo lost to then #25 Fresno State in double overtime, which is not a terrible loss either. The other loss Toledo had was at Arizona, 41-16. For most people, the only terrible loss they had sustained was against FIU. Now, UNT is really having a terrible year…I feel for them, as I know the feeling..

As Cristobal has said, "we are miles away from where we want to be" but then again we are miles away from where we were.
