Around The Belt: Oct. 11th

Here are today's games in the Belt:

Louisiana-Lafayette (1-0) at N. Texas (0-1)

The Cajun's should notch another W in the Belt today, the Mean Green just aren't very mean and are looking every bit green. On the other hand the Cajun have built up some nice momentum with last weeks victory over the Warhawks, a team that was suppose to contend for the title, with big offensive numbers & I just don't see N. Texas having the horse power to slow the offensive power the Cajuns have on offense.
Prediction: Louisiana-Lafayette

Louisiana-Monroe (0-1) at Arkansas St. (1-0)

This is probably the biggest game in the Belt this week, not that the FAU vs Troy wasn't a big game, it just a done deal.

The Warhawks look to re-bound if they want to keep their hopes up and stay in contention for a conference title and are in the same boat the Owls were in earlier in the week.  It is a must win game for 'hawks as they will be facing a very tough Arkansas St. team.

This is another game that will have big implications on how the Belt race heats up.

The Red Wolves defense has been a surprise and should be able to contain the Warhawks offense to walk away with a victory and keep their chase for a conference title alive and the 'hawk left licking their battle wounds.
Prediction: Arkansas State

Middle Tennessee (1-2) at Florida International (1-0)

This is an interesting match-up this week.

The Golden Panther finally got their offense rolling last week with a big and rare conference victory over North Texas, but will be facing a much tougher Blue Raider defense this week.

The Panther have two things going for them this week, the momentum of having won two straight wins, an out of conference win over Toledo & last week beat-down of the Mean Green.  And having home field advantage with a two game winning streak, this should amount to a very energized crowd.

The Blue Raiders come off a big win against conference rival FAU to win their first conference game of the year, and have every reason to feel good about themselves.  I just don't see them having enough horse power of offense to keep-up with the panthers.

This will be a close game, but I do have to give the Golden Panther an edge in this one.
Prediction: Florida International
